What we do

One firm for the whole property

Air conditioning is the specialism. The rest is everything a building needs from more than one contractor, kept under one roof.

How we work

  1. Tell us what is wrong

Call, email or send a photo. Most jobs we can price from a description and a picture, which saves you a visit.

  2. We look and we quote

We come out, confirm what the work actually involves and send a written quote. Fixed price where the job is clear, day rate where it is not, and we tell you which one you are getting.

  3. We do the work and tidy up

Agreed date, agreed price. We clear up after ourselves and tell you straight away if we find anything else behind the wall.

How electrical work is signed off in Jersey

Fixed electrical work in Jersey is certifiable building work under the Building Bye-laws (Jersey) 2007. It must be inspected and tested by someone registered with an approved competent person scheme, who notifies the scheme on completion and issues you a certificate.

Ask any electrician for their scheme and membership number before you instruct them.

Questions we get asked

Do you cover the whole island?

Yes. We work across all twelve parishes, from St Helier out to St Ouen, Trinity and Grouville. [CONFIRM: whether any travel charge applies to any area]

Do you do emergency call-outs?

Yes, 24 hours. Fees apply, or call-outs can be included as part of a maintenance package. [CONFIRM: call-out fee and package options]

For storm damage, a failed consumer unit or water coming in, ring 07797 785155 rather than emailing so we can get to you.

Do you work on commercial premises?

Yes. Andrew has installed and maintained air conditioning in banks, finance buildings, hotels and medical centres, and spent ten years managing commercial units and churches.

We work for letting agents, managing agents and commercial tenants, can invoice the agent directly, hold keys, and work to your own reporting and sign-off process.

Who signs off electrical work in Jersey?

Fixed electrical work is certifiable building work under the Building Bye-laws (Jersey) 2007. It must be inspected and tested by someone registered with an approved competent person scheme, who notifies the scheme on completion and issues you a certificate.

Ask any electrician for their scheme and membership number before you instruct them. Ours is [CONFIRM: scheme and membership number].

Do I need permission to replace my roof covering?

Often both planning and building bye-law permission. You need planning permission if the property is listed, or if the new covering is a different material, or is not natural slate or clay tile on a pitched roof.

You need building bye-law permission if more than half the roof covering is being replaced, or if the new material is heavier than the old one. Repairs and minor maintenance need neither. We will tell you which applies before quoting.

Do I need permission to paint the outside of my house?

Only if the surface has never been painted before. If it has been painted previously you do not need planning permission, and you never need building bye-law permission to paint. Listed status is assessed separately.

How do quotes work?

Quotes are free and in writing. We give a fixed price where the work is clear and a day rate where it is not, and we tell you which one you are getting before anyone starts. [CONFIRM: whether a survey fee applies to larger works]

Is there a minimum job size?

[CONFIRM: minimum charge or minimum half-day rate] Ask anyway. Small jobs often get grouped into a single visit, which keeps the cost down for everyone.
